300 hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with Yogafurie

How is your practice?

Yogafurie’s 300 hour Advanced Teacher Training is for all dedicated practitioners, not just teachers. It’s deliberately broad, teaching you the methods and science of movement, meditation and breathwork. It’s deliberately deep, taking you on a journey through your own body, mind and breath.

Our course is unique because it’s not written and delivered by Yoga teachers alone. Some of the South West’s foremost practitioners in fields such as meditation, Traditional Chinese Medicine and bodywork add to our Yoga expertise in bringing this course to you.

Yoga can be very practical. The right kind of practice will benefit people as they are today, in the lives that they already lead. Practicality is a guiding principle in the design of the course – from its modular structure to the selection of topics studied. It really is all about You, and Your Yoga. For instance, do any of these ring true for you?

  • You’ve practised for years but there are some things you just can’t master. You want to know why, and if there’s anything you can do about it.
  • Your physical Yoga is capable and well aligned. But you know there’s much more to Yoga and want to repeat this success in other areas, like meditation for instance. You’re just not sure how or where to start.
  • Practice has given you great strength and suppleness. But you still have niggling health problems, or feel a lack of vitality. You know Yoga creates better health but feel confused because it hasn’t happened for you yet.
  • You teach but know that you don’t fully understand how bodies and minds work. You’re ready to dig deeper into somatics and consciousness, and want a course that blends ancient tradition with the best of modern research and anatomy.
  • You’ve been teaching a while, and want to understand the foundations of Yogic thought better. How is all this world One? Does anybody really buy that anyway? How can you explain it to students? And what does that mean for how you live your life?

These and other similar questions come up often for Yogis. Rather than just teach you about Yoga as a standalone subject, Yogafurie’s modular 300 hour course addresses the real questions that real people have about how they got to where they are, and where Yoga might take them next.

Yoga offers a wealth of ways to develop the body, the mind, and the vital energy (from the breath) that connects and supports both. But few teachers – or practitioners – can ever really master all three, because schools and senior teachers stick to their specialisms. Until now, there have been very few courses – and none in the South West – that can help you to embody all these aspects of practice.

It’s assumed that you have some kind of Yoga practice already, but you don’t have to be a teacher.

This module is formally assessed. Upon successful completion of the study period and the assessment, you’ll earn 50 CPD hours to add to your professional teaching profile. You can choose your method of assessment from these options:

  1. Design a 3 hour workshop for Yoga practitioners that focuses on the study topics. You will need to submit your workshop plans, a selection of feedback from attendees, and a report describing how you integrated your new knowledge into the content.
  2. Prepare a 3000 word case study describing how you’ve used your new knowledge and skills in an attempt to help yourself or someone else. Your case study will outline the initial conditions for your chosen subject: how this person (or you) was feeling, what they (or you) considered to be significant challenges etc. You’ll describe practices that you selected to assist. This can include asana, but should feature mostly mindfulness and/or meditation and/or Yoga Nidra practices. You’ll justify why you think these practices might help, and over what period they were applied. Your case study will include a short report on the outcome: your candidate (or you) will describe how they now feel about their significant challenges and what has changed for them. Your report will feature your personal conclusion: why do you think the stated outcome arose? What direction would you take your work in next? It doesn’t matter if your candidate reports that the practices don’t work: it’s more important to look at the reasons why the outcome might have arisen, and state what can be learned from this.

If you buy a standalone module, then you must have paid for it entirely by 1st of the month in which the module delivery commences.

Your deposit and course/ module fees are not refundable if you don’t start or complete the course for any reason. You can cancel your place on the course. Email teachertraining@yogafurie.com – we will obviously offer to talk things through with you to see if we can help in any way.

You must attend all the course days and successfully complete the assessment to receive the full 50 hours CPD. If you have to miss any time, you will need to ask your colleagues for notes from the session. Yogafurie will supply paper copies of any handouts that were distributed when you were absent.
