300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training

Gain depth in Yoga asana, meditation, pranayama and its sister science, Ayurveda

“My life now couldn’t be more different from when I started the course! Taking on the teacher training was the first step in creating a life that I have chosen for myself.”
Seana – 2021 Yogafurie Academy Teacher Trainee

Yogafurie’s 300 hour program focuses on asana, breath, meditation and offers insights into health and wellness through Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. You’ll understand postures in stillness and dynamic movement. You’ll see yourself in a new way from a dive deep into different meditation methods. You’ll explore your breath as the emotional and energetic foundation of experience. Ancient health techniques from Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine will support you during the course, and for years to come.

This course is  modular. You can study the modules individually, and in any order.

Who are YOU?

This course is aimed at Yoga practitioners and teachers who are ready to take the next step in learning and practice. You do not have to have a 200 hour qualification to join the course.

It’s modular – because you’re probably busy, and need flexibility in when you complete your modules.

It’s thorough – because you want 300 contact hours out of your 300 hour course.

It’s in-person – because online learning just isn’t the same.

It’s rigourous – because you’re committed to making Yoga part of the fabric of your body, mind, breath, and the foundation of your everyday health through Ayurveda.

Perhaps your current practice has hit a plateau. Or maybe you’re getting a little older, or working with an injury. You know that Yoga can unlock your life and your experience, but you haven’t found anywhere that can lead you through this.

Yogafurie’s 300 hour Advanced Yoga Training is for you.

Course logistics

The next course runs Nov 2023 – Oct 2024.

The course costs £3899 if you pay by instalments, and £3699 you pay in full (£200 discount).

Spaces are strictly limited and a deposit of £599 secures your space.

Each studio day runs 8AM-5PM at the Yogafurie studio in Bristol unless otherwise advised (occasionally we might start earlier; you’ll be notified well in advance if we do).

The retreat days will be at a retreat location in the South West to be advised.

Yes – the price includes your accommodation, food and Yoga instruction on retreat. You will need to organise your own transport to the venue – it will be in the South West of England, so car sharing is an option and we will help you connect with others who want to car share if you wish. You will need to bring your own toiletries, towels, etc.

We will eat delicious vegan food on retreat. We can cater for gluten free people or those with certain food allergies – ask for details. There will be two hearty meals per day and snacks, tea, coffee etc will always be available.

Each module is a standalone study unit, focused on a specific aspect of Yoga and wellness. You can just study the modules you like and gain 50 hours CPD for each if you complete its assessment satisfactorily.

If you complete all the modules, then you can apply to Yogafurie for a 300 hour certification. It doesn’t matter if this takes you longer than one year.

Yoga is about people.

Even if you don’t want to teach others, you’ll be using your skills to teach yourself. Again, we passionately believe that you need to be with people to learn about people – especially when it comes to assessing Yoga postures, or guiding people through physically or emotionally challenging practices.

It’s a real missed opportunity to try to do that kind of thing over a video link. The best outcome always arises from being with your students and fellow trainees, in person.

You’ll be taught by Yogafurie’s senior instructors, and subject matter experts recognised as leaders in their field of practice throughout Bristol and the South West. Expect to work and study hard, and to meet some really interesting people. No other course offers you the same breadth of exposure to talented professionals who make their living from movement and holistic health.

You’ll learn – and learn to practice – ancient techniques in movement, mind, breath and wellbeing. But this will be in the light of new discoveries in science and medicine. You’ll take away groundbreaking insights into Yoga, health, and what it all means to you.

Sometimes there will be group work based on the content shared, which may include leading others through practices.

Numbers are strictly limited to 12 on each module – you secure a spot by placing a £599 deposit.

The total price if you pay by instalments is £3899. After paying your deposit, you can pay the balance by monthly instalments of £275, due 1st of each month Nov 24 – Oct 25 inclusive.

The total price if you pay in full is £3699 (you get a £200 discount). After paying your deposit, you have a further £3100 to pay before 1 Nov 24.

Reading list to follow soon

To certify your 50 hours CPD, you’ll complete an assignment at the end of each module. You can choose between:

  • Personal research around the topics covered, leading to submission of a 5000 word discussion paper that reflects your learning; or,
  • Prepare, present and report on a 4-hour workshop in which you teach around the topics covered. You’ll submit your workshop summary, your workshop plan, a report on the outcome and any feedback shared by participants.

This course is aimed at practitioners and teachers of Yoga; we assume that you manage your own practice. There will be at least one book to read for each module. There is no written work to do other than the module assessments.

You can still take part. You won’t be able to practice any Hot Yoga, but the rest of the content is very accessible. A number of ladies have completed our courses whilst pregnant.

This is a very practical course. The only written work required is the course assessments. Many of the course books are available in audio format. Please get in touch to discuss your specific circumstances.

Your course is led by Ed Wood (E-RYT500, YACEP, Yoga Elder). Ed is certified to the highest level with Yoga Alliance International, and is a registered Yoga Elder with the Independent Yoga Network.

Your second course leader is Sinead Duncan.

We will be joined by a host of experts and specialists from related fields in Yoga and wellness.

Your deposit and course fees are not refundable if you don’t complete the course for any reason.

You can defer to the next presentation of the 300 hour course from Yogafurie Bristol 1) if Yogafurie agrees to the deferment (this is exclusively at Yogafurie’s discretion) 2) you pay a deferment fee of £500 within one week of the deferment being agreed. Any outstanding course fees would then be payable when you rejoin the subsequence course. If the course prices have changed when the subsequent course runs, your outstanding balance will be based on the new prices. If you want to defer and either 1) Yogafurie hasn’t agreed for any reason and/ or 2) the course you want to defer to isn’t the next scheduled 300 hour from Yogafurie Bristol then you are cancelling your course place – see below.

Your course fees include a free copy of the Yogafurie Academy 300 hour manual.

Your course fees do not include any other books or stationery that you need for study, any Yoga equipment, clothing or class costs, or any travel costs you incur if you go to or teach classes whilst on the course.

Yogafurie strongly recommends that you obtain insurance (public liability, professional indemnity) during the course. Your course fees do not include the cost of this insurance.

You can cancel your place on the course. Email teachertraining@yogafurie.com – we will obviously offer to talk things through with you to see if we can help in any way.

While your course runs, you qualify for a half-price Yogafurie studio membership. Please ask for details. The half price offer is not available on all memberships.
