As soon as we started our company, we recognised the importance of climate change. Even with local businesses like ours, our carbon footprint can have a detrimental impact on our friends’ and families’ future. That’s why we made it our mission to reduce the ways we negatively affect the earth while positively affecting the lives of many.
Even smaller actions can have a big impact. Although the energy used for our hot yoga is sourced from 100% renewable energy, we recognise that this change is just one of the things we can be doing to play our part in saving the Earth.
To further offset our carbon footprint, over the past two years, we have partnered with the Forest of Avon Trust to plant 152 new trees in Bristol’s beautiful local woodlands, community sites and schools. Having seen a long-lasting success in the addition of green, local spaces, we have pledged to plant another additional 208 trees around Bristol to help create cleaner air and rebalance the environment for our city.
While our hearts go out to those in Ukraine who are suffering, the sanctions placed on Russia have shown the need to switch to renewable sources of energy more than ever.
Instead of turning to re-opening old oil fields and re-start coal stations, we should be looking towards switching from carbon-negative or carbon-neutral energy sources to renewable – preventing any further damage to the environment as well as continuing our resistance against Putin’s war.
In the words of Alex Stone from the Forest of Avon Trust, “climate action is about reducing suffering, saving and improving lives.” At Yogafurie, we hope that our efforts in only using green energy will help you can rest assured that taking classes with us will help pave the road to a safe and peaceful future for our world.
