A ton o’ fun!
Try Partner Yoga!
It's just the most fun way to practice!
“Yoga” means “union” (in Sanskrit), and this is exactly what partner Yoga does – it unites two people – sometimes with hilarious results!
But all joking aside, partner Yoga really does bring people together through contact and movement. It’s a great way to understand and improve your own postures as well. Read on to find out some of the benefits of partner Yoga.
This workshop is held at room temperature. It is not a Hot Yoga practice.
Enjoy shared moments
In partner Yoga, students either both do the same movement or one acts as a “base” while the other is a “flyer”. Either way, we’re giving and receiving.
When two people move together, you have to let someone receive your weight. And then you, in turn, receive theirs. It’s a shared activity, and it’s all about sharing.

Learning to let go...
Sometimes we can take life too seriously! Giving your weight to a partner means letting go of it yourself. How much more can we let go of, that we hold on to unnecessarily? Partner yoga helps re-install that fun and childlike approach to living in the moment.

Trust
When we let go to the support of another, we take a step into the unknown. We’re learning to trust them – and to trust ourselves for letting this happen. This strengthens the individual, but by showing us how interdependent we really are, it strengthens relationships as well.
In our lives outside the studio, we can do more with less when we trust ourselves to trust the help and support of others.

Improve your own technique
With the support of another, we can explore movements and postures in a new and deeper way. Strengthening our own self-awareness brings new insight into the body and how it works – and, crucially, how best to support its development.

Practical details
- You don’t have to bring a partner. There are bound to be others who also came solo for you to practice with.
- Everyone must have a Yoga mat and a towel.
- Do not attempt any movement or give any support that you are concerned about. Ask the instructors for help.
It’s really simple, easy and fun to start a partner practice, but we all must take care of ourselves and our partners.
We can’t wait to see you on the day!
