Welcome Winter's Approach Yoga Retreat

We will stay at a favourite place of ours in Dartmoor. Surrounded by beautiful countryside you will practice, eat and sleep in absolute comfort. Hit the arrow to the right to discover what's included.
Whether you are coming along with friends, a loved one or flying solo, there are wonderful accommodation options to suit everyone’s needs.
It’s your choice if you would like to have your own room with or without ensuite facilities. Or if you will be joining us with a friend, a family member of a loved one, we have double, twin and even triple options for you to choose from.
Every room is lovingly decorated individual from the rest. And although you will be likely to spend most of your time out of your room practicing Yoga, studying, reading or taking walks, we know for sure you will be very pleased with your accommodation.
Read below for everything included in the cost of the retreat:
- 3 nights accommodation.
- Up to 3 Yoga practice sessions per day.
- This can include asana, pranayama, meditation and kriyas.
- Optional afternoon Yoga workshops. These will offer a mix of different Yoga styles, relaxation practices or movement based workshops.
- All day access to 2 glorious practice studios, perfect for sunrise meditations and evening relaxations.
- Hearty brunch and dinner every day (dinner on arrival day and brunch on the last day). You won’t go hungry!
- Complimentary tea, coffee and healthy, tasty snacks available throughout the day.
All meals are vegetarian with a lot of vegan options, if you have any other specific dietary requirements we are more than happy to cater for them. Please let us know as soon as you book in if you do have dietary requirements.
This retreat will be lead by two of our Instructors, Ed Wood and Lisa Ferro. Ed is the founder of Yogafurie Academy Teacher Training Academy, and Lisa can often be found teaching on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings!
Ed, founder of Yogafurie Yoga & Hot Yoga Teacher Training Academy is both a senior Yoga Teacher and a humble Yoga student and practitioner. Always practicing and always studying, Ed can expertly teach different yoga styles in order that the students involved really can learn and experience what is being taught.
Lisa is an experienced GP by day, and a skilled and passionate Yoga Teacher by night! A generous and thoughtful soul who truly believes in the healing power of people and Yoga.
On this retreat, you will be able to dive deeper into your knowledge and understanding of Yoga.
Each morning will begin with optional Kriya practices (3 extremely useful cleansing practices outlined in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, a classic 15th century Sanskrit manual on Hatha Yoga) and/ or breathing and meditation work.
This is then followed by a two hour asana practice. Expect this to be dynamic, creative, challenging and fun!
We break for a hearty brunch, and a little time to rest.
On at least one day, Ed will offer an optional workshop for you to attend. This could range from movement based practice, to theory, history, extra meditations – anything! You will receive details closer to the time of retreat.
In the later afternoon we all gather together again for a 2 hour physical practice. Slower, and more gentle and restorative, this practice will set you up for a restful evening.
We then enjoy a tasty dinner and an evening off to enjoy however you wish!

What else can I do?
Where we are staying is surrounded by countryside and a babbling brook. There are many walking routes you can take. Others choose to journal, read or catch up on extra rest.
How to get here
Travel isn't included in the cost of the retreat. Heading to Dartmoor is possible by train, public transport and by car.
We promote car pooling on our retreats so please let us know if you do not have a mode of transport or are looking for someone to share petrol costs with. If you contact us we will put you in touch with others who’d like to car share.
Whether travelling solo, or staying with a friend or loved one, you're sure to find the perfect accommodation options for your retreat. No matter which option you choose, all accommodation, meals and Yoga are included in the price.
Have your own room or share with someone. If you would like to book yourself some extra space and privacy with a twin room all to yourself, that’s an option too! On top of that you can choose to share bathroom or add extra comfort by booking an ensuite.

Booking and Payment

You can pay the entire price in one. Or you can pay in two stages – a deposit of £250 secures your booking, and then the full balance must be paid by 16th October 2023.
If you need to cancel your deposit, it is non-refundable. If you paid the entire amount upfront and you cancelled more than 1 month before the event, then 50% is not refundable. If for whatever reason you do need to cancel, then simply contact us.
